Garbage Services
Mission Statement
The Waste Management Program in partnership with the public, Industry and other government agencies, protects public health and the environment by encouraging:
- Recycling, waste minimization and pollution prevention.
- Proper management of solid and hazardous wastes.
- Voluntary compliance and participation in preferred waste management practices by providing a balance of technical assistance and compliance assurance activities.
We assure program integration, regulatory consistency and good customer service through close coordination and communication among program staff and with related programs and agencies.
Program objectives are met by the operation of the following transfer sites and Regional Landfills:

Transfer Stations do not accept the following items:
(These items must be hauled to one of the 2 landfills)
- Propane Tanks
- Mattresses
- Commercial Waste
- Construction or Demolition Materials (NO ASBESTOS PERMITTED)
- Appliances
- Furniture
- Painted Lumber
- Wire (Exception: wire may be taken to the Kingman Transfer Site as there is a bin for it there)
- Chemical Jugs
New Norway Garbage Pickup is provided by County Enviro Pickup.
Pelican Point Garbage Pickup is provided by E360 Environmental Services. Please contact them at 403-341-9300 or info@e360s.ca with any questions regarding Pelican Point garbage or recycling pick up. See the 2020 schedule here!
Ferintosh Garbage Pickup is provided by County Enviro Pickup. See the schedule here!

Transfer Sites accept household garbage only. Household garbage is material generated during the routine operation of a family dwelling. Does not include furniture, construction material or tools. There is no fee to dispose of household garbage at the transfer sites. County residents will get a card from the transfer site attendant after they show proof of residency. | ||||
